Hi from Barcelona

It has been only a couple weeks since I came back from the US but I’m already falling head over heels in love with the food and culture from Barcelona again. If you have never been in Barcelona, read this:

Barcelona is one of the most beautiful and exciting cities in the world. It has a huge number of attractions including a city centre which retains its medieval street plan; some stunning modernist architecture including several buildings by Gaudí – Catalonia’s most famous architect; dozens of museums including one dedicated to Picasso, another to Miró and yet another to Barça, Barcelona’s world famous football club!

Barcelona is almost as lively at night as it is during the day and it has a unique, exciting atmosphere, which provides the visitor with a truly unforgettable experience. There are major arts exhibitions throughout the year and concerts and shows of different kinds happening all the time.

Read more about it in here.

As you probably already know if you were following my posts in Catalan on the social media, I studied at Universitat Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), a public university in Barcelona that was founded in 1990 and that it’s named after the Catalan philologist Pompeu Fabra. According to Times Higher Education it’s one of the 7 fastest-rising young universities in the world!

Time goes by so fast… I don’t wanna sound like an old lady but it’s seems like ages since four years ago, when I started my degree in Biomedical Engineering (BME) at UPF. Back then I remember being really scared because, you know what everybody says, engineering it’s just not for girls.

Not for girls? Well, that’s simply not true. There are certainly not as many female engineers as male ones but ladies can be just as good at it. In this blog, I will try to motivate y’all to start a career in engineering and I’m writing it in English so that not matter where you come from you can understand me. So enough chitchat and let’s get started!
